Priming The Lid
When thinking about how to use the P.Louise base, the first thing that comes into your head will probably be priming the eyelid. By priming the lid with our our opaque base, you can:
- Conceal blemishes and pigmentation
- Blur skin texture
- Create an even base
- Create a crease-proof finish
- Increase eyeshadow pigment strength
How you use the our base for priming the lid all depends on the look you want to achieve, as you can customise the coverage.
For a more sheer look, take the base with a fluffy brush and gently buff the base across the lid. For that iconic P.Louise look, take a #7071 flat brush and pad a pat pat pat to perfection, building up thin layers to create a flawless and opaque finish.
The base is designed to remain tacky, because as soon as you place the shadows on top of the base, they will grasp to the base, magnify the colour and set.
When it comes to choosing your base shade, go for a base that is one to two shades lighter than your skin tone as this allows the colours to pop and appear much more vibrant.

Carve The Brow
Next up is carving the brow! Using a #7071 flat brush, take our base in a shade or two lighter than your skin tone and use the side of the bristles on the brush to carve out the brow to your desired shape.
You can remove any unwanted brow hairs, pigmentation or texture, all whilst carving out your dream brow. It is super simple to do this at the same time as priming the lid!
In The Waterline
Another way to use our base is in the waterline! Take an angled liner brush with a paint of your choice and work the paint into the waterline for a smoky effect.
The best thing about our bases unlike normal waterline products is that they don’t smudge. Even if you need to shed a tear or two, our bases are tearproof and remain vibrant until you remove them!

As Eyeliner
For a smoky and sultry liner, it doesn’t get much better than when you use our base.
Buff a small amount of your chosen base along the lash line to create a smoky liner effect. Take your time here, creating layers and gradually blending for a dreamy ombre look. Switch up your pressure as you go, with more pressure the closer you are to the lash line and gradually less as you blend up. You will get flawless results with the right technique!
As Cream Contour
Step 1: Choose Your Shades
Choose two bases:
- One two shades lighter than your skin tone.
- One two shades darker than your skin tone.
Step 2: Apply Your Darker Shade
Take a small amount of the base that is two shades darker with a flat brush and create lines
- Around the very top of the forehead
- Underneath your cheekbones
- Along the jawline
- Down either side of the nose, keeping it as near to the bridge as possible
Use a sponge and blend this out really well.
Step 3: Apply Your Lighter Shade
Take a shade that is two shades lighter and apply it:
- Under each eye
- In the middle of the forehead
- Down the middle of the nose
- On the chin
Use a clean sponge and blend all of this out.
As Blush
Last but not least, you can use the P.Louise base as blush. Our pink hued coloured bases can be used as such a creamy blush, particularly Winter Rose, Cute in Coral, Pretentious Peach and Pretty in Pink. Take our #638 angled face brush and blend the base from the apple of your cheeks up onto the upper cheek bone.
